Ypyli is a dialect word for wet snow that has already fallen on the ground, i.e. sohjo. Another word for ypyli, used at least in Päijät-Häme, is "solsku". There are numerous words in dialects of Finnish for ypyli, such as räpäskä, lopaska, houle and hölse.
